Mount St. Helens is a Composite volcano located in the united states(Washington). Its elevation is 8,363 feet or 2549 meter. Its recent most eruption was in 2008. But its most famous eruption was in the 1980's. In Mount St.Helens 1980 eruption was its biggest, 400 meters of the mountain was destroyed and 57 people died in this eruption. After this eruption pyroclastic flows rolled on for hours covering around 6 square miles. The ash cloud after this eruption covered about 80,000 feet. Mount St.Helens creates many lava domes. A lava dome is where very viscous lava rises to the surface and cools and hardens. If these domes break they would create a pyroglastic flow. Before this eruption this volcano was 8,393 feet tall and had a point on the top. After this huge eruption there was no point and there was a giant horse shoe shape tilted on the top of the volcano. St.Helens launches Basaltic and Andesetic lava meaning that its eruptions are not explosive. St.Helens is on a convergent boundary where the Juan de Fuca plate is being pushed under the North American Plate.
